How & Why I Became an Investor in Order Editing
I First came across Hamish Mckay and orderediting.com on LinkedIn, as many people probably have. At the time, I had been wrestling with some intricate challenges around order management for a high-quality brand based in the UK, Frahm.
Frahm operates a pre-order model, which is brilliant for managing production and creating exclusivity. But it also comes with challenges. Customers would get in touch asking to make changes — maybe they needed a different size, wanted to tweak their order, or had to update a delivery address. Shopify doesn’t make this easy. There’s no straightforward way to edit an order once it’s placed. Instead, you’re stuck cancelling and rewriting orders or trying to work around the system, which is fiddly and frustrating for everyone.
That’s when I got in touch with Hamish. I asked, “Is this the kind of thing Order Editing could solve?” His response? “Yes, exactly.” The LinkedIn love in rolled on from there.
Why Order Editing Stood Out to Me
I’ve spent years working in ecommerce operations, particularly at Peoplevox WMS, and I know how often these issues crop up. Orders are rarely set in stone — especially with premium or bespoke products. But fixing them shouldn’t feel like pulling teeth.
What Order Editing does is take a really common pain point and make it disappear. It lets teams adjust orders seamlessly, whether changing an item, updating a shipping address, or swapping in a new variant. It takes what could be a frustrating experience for the customer and makes it effortless.
The Impact in Action
Hamish shared some stats from other brands using the app. One company, handling around 800 orders daily, found that about 5% needed editing — a change of size here, a swapped item there. Before using Order Editing, this would’ve meant endless emails, manual admin, and potentially lost sales. Now? Those changes are handled in minutes, with no stress.
For Frahm, I could see how this would make their lives easier. It wasn’t about reinventing their processes, just smoothing out a bump slowing things down. And from a customer perspective, it’s a no-brainer. Happy customers stick around.
Why I Backed It
Order Editing stood out because it’s simple, innovative, and solves a real-world problem. It doesn’t over-engineer things — it just gets out of the way and lets businesses focus on what they do best.
For brands like Frahm Jacket and so many others, it’s not just about fixing orders. It’s about creating a better customer experience, building loyalty, and freeing their team to focus on growth rather than admin.
I’m excited to see what’s next for Order Editing and proud to be on the journey with the guys.
